Microcellular Plastics Manufacturing Laboratory (MPML) is the premier research laboratory for innovative plastic foaming technology in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The key research areas include the processing of plastic foams and composites through novel injection molding techniques and extrusion processing, involving both physical and chemical blowing agents.
In an increasingly competitive materials development environment, plastics are becoming one of the most consumed materials in the world. Microcellular Plastics Manufacturing Laboratory (MPML) provides global university-based leadership in the emerging field of plastic foaming technology and focuses on the key areas of research and development, education and training. We actively seek partnerships with both the public and private sectors to ensure that our research programs not only excel in scientific discovery, but also have significant commercial viability to accelerate technology transfer. We conduct research and train tomorrow’s innovators.
